Depart from Arusha early and head to Tarangire National Park, famous for its enormous elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Spend the day photographing elephants, giraffes, and zebras framed against golden savannahs. Capture the warm morning light and dynamic wildlife movement throughout the park. In the afternoon, continue photographing predators like lions and leopards resting under acacia trees. End the day at a mid-range lodge near Tarangire, reviewing your stunning images and preparing for the next adventure.
Tarangire combines river valleys, open grassland and woodland dotted with baobabs. Your guide works through different habitats rather than following a fixed wildlife checklist. Elephant herds, antelope and birdlife are among the subjects to watch for, while predator sightings depend on the day. Allow time at sightings to observe behaviour and keep cameras ready during the slower drives between them.
Arusha is the usual starting or finishing point for this northern Tanzania programme. Confirm the collection address and departure time before travelling, and keep a small day bag separate from your main luggage. Transfer time varies with the route, traffic and road conditions; the guide will explain the day’s stops before setting out.
