Follow the Herds, 6 Days Migration in Serengeti & Ngorongoro trip

Your 6 days migration safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Arusha accommodation. After a comprehensive briefing from your professional guide, we depart for the Serengeti National Park, driving through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania. We'll stop for lunch at the Naabi Hill Gate before entering the vast plains of the Serengeti.

Our afternoon game drive focuses on tracking the Great Migration, with opportunities to witness thousands of wildebeest and zebra. We'll also search for predators attracted to the migration herds. In the late afternoon, we proceed to your comfortable lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we embark on a full day of migration tracking in the Serengeti. Depending on the season, we'll head to areas where the wildebeest herds are concentrated. Your expert guide will use radio communication and local knowledge to locate the migration.

Witness the dramatic river crossings if we're in the right area and season. The day is filled with incredible wildlife viewing opportunities as we follow the moving herds. We enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location in the park. In the late afternoon, we return to the lodge to share stories of the day's sightings over dinner.

Today we venture toward the northern regions of the Serengeti, home to the famous Mara River where dramatic river crossings occur during certain months. Even outside peak crossing season, this area offers spectacular wildlife viewing. We'll search for big cats, elephants, and other resident wildlife while continuing to track migration movements.

The landscape changes dramatically as we move north, with more wooded areas and rocky outcrops. We enjoy lunch at a picturesque spot before continuing our exploration. In the late afternoon, we either return to our lodge or transfer to our northern Serengeti accommodation based on migration patterns.

After breakfast, we enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, making the most of our last opportunity to witness the migration in this incredible park. We might encounter predators on their morning hunt or catch a final glimpse of the massive wildebeest herds.

After our morning drive, we begin our trip to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The scenic drive takes us through different landscapes, offering beautiful photo opportunities. We arrive at our lodge on the crater rim in time for lunch, with breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater. The afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Today we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most spectacular wildlife viewing areas. After an early breakfast, we drive down the steep crater walls to the floor below. Often called "Africa's Eden," the crater hosts approximately 25,000 large animals, including the rare black rhinoceros.

Our full day in the crater provides exceptional viewing opportunities for the Big Five and numerous other species. We enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, surrounded by incredible scenery. The crater's enclosed ecosystem creates unique wildlife concentrations, making every game drive here truly memorable. In the late afternoon, we ascend back to our lodge.

After a leisurely breakfast with final views of the magnificent crater, we begin our trip back to Arusha. The drive takes us through beautiful highland scenery and traditional Maasai lands.

We stop for lunch at a scenic spot along the way, reflecting on the incredible wildlife spectacles we've witnessed during our 6 days migration safari. The trip back offers time to process the amazing experiences of following the Great Migration through Serengeti and exploring the unique ecosystem of Ngorongoro Crater. We arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, where we'll drop you at your accommodation or the airport for your onward trip.
