6 Days Northern Tanzania Fly in Safari from Zanzibar

Your safari begins with a transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport for your scheduled flight to Central Serengeti. This fly-in start is the most comfortable and time-saving way to begin the safari because you avoid long mainland transfers and arrive directly in one of the most famous wildlife areas in Africa.

On arrival at Seronera Airstrip, your safari guide will be waiting to receive you. Depending on your landing time, you will begin with your first game drive in Central Serengeti before heading to camp. This first day already gives you a real taste of the Serengeti, with chances to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and many other animals.

Today is dedicated to a full day safari in Central Serengeti. After breakfast, you will head out with picnic lunch and spend the day exploring one of the best year-round wildlife regions in Tanzania. This area is known for open plains, rocky kopjes, and river valleys that attract wildlife throughout the year.

Central Serengeti is especially strong for predator sightings. You may see lions resting on kopjes, cheetahs scanning the plains, leopards hidden in acacia trees, and large numbers of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, and elephant. In the evening, you return to camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Central Serengeti before starting your trip toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This gives you one more opportunity to enjoy Serengeti wildlife while slowly transitioning from the plains into the cooler and greener highlands.

The drive is scenic and enjoyable, with changing landscapes along the route. By late afternoon, you will arrive in the Karatu area for dinner and overnight. This is a good stopping point before your crater tour on the following day.

Today you descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most rewarding safari destinations in Africa because it holds a high concentration of wildlife in a spectacular natural setting.

During the crater tour, you may see lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, elephants, and the rare black rhino. After your picnic lunch, you will ascend from the crater and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will continue to Tarangire National Park for another exciting safari experience. Tarangire is known for its giant baobab trees, beautiful landscape, and some of the largest elephant herds in Northern Tanzania. It offers a very different atmosphere from both Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

During your game drive, you may also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, hartebeests, and many bird species. After lunch and wildlife viewing in the park, you will drive to Arusha for dinner and overnight, giving you a more relaxed departure on the final day.

After breakfast, your 6-day safari comes to an end. Depending on your onward arrangements, we can transfer you to Arusha Airport for your domestic flight back to Zanzibar or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international departure.

This final day is designed for flexibility and a smooth connection after safari. You leave with unforgettable memories of Serengeti plains, Ngorongoro wildlife, Tarangire elephants, and a well-organized Northern Tanzania safari experience.
